You are never really playing an opponent. You are playing yourself, your own highest standards, and when you reach your limits, that is real joy.
The pursuit of athletic achievement is an integral part of the Cambridge experience. Competition is an opportunity for our athletes to strengthen their minds and bodies outside the classroom, and sports allow the entire Cambridge Family to unite to cheer, encourage, and share our friends', students', and children's pursuit of excellence. Cambridge Academy has a proud history of championship teams, and we are eager to laud our students and teams that have filled our trophy cases with awards. However, equally important are our students who have taken a step outside their comfort zone to be a part of a team.
Cambridge offers students the opportunity to compete in 10 sports at the Upper and Middle School levels throughout the academic year, and the school is always looking to expand athletic opportunities for our students. Since 2020, Cambridge Academy has won SCISA State championships in Men's Golf and Women's Basketball. Our Women's Volleyball team was runner-up in the State Championship Tournament in 2022, and our Women's Soccer team has played in the State Finals and Semi-Finals in the previous two seasons. Cambridge Academy also boasts swimmers and runners who have qualified to participate in the State Final Meets in their respective sports. All of Cambridge's teams are led by faculty members or individuals in the community with a wealth of experience, a commitment to having a positive impact on their players, and a passion for coaching young athletes.
