Early Childhood and Lower School
Your child will continually be exposed to music in the Early Childhood Learning Classes. Classes will use songs to enhance their educational development, they will be soothed to sleep during nap time with music, and they will express joy and excitement through song and dance. Classes will also spend time each week in the music room each week learning about choral teamwork, harmony, and vocalization.
Once in Lower School, classes will learn how to read sheet music, play different instruments like the harmonica, recorder, and percussion, and memorize lyrics. Our students will perform for their friends and family throughout the year at our Grandparents Assembly, Christmas Assembly, and Fine Arts night.
Middle and Upper School Music
For our Middle and Upper School students, Music is offered as an elective. Regardless of experience or skill, students have the ability to learn and play an array of instruments and be a part of the Cambridge Band. The Cambridge Band focuses on classic rock songs and performs throughout the year at school functions. Those students who excel in Cambridge are often invited to perform with Ashby Stokes at his Christmas Music exhibition at the Greenwood Community Theater.
